MAB Kargo, a subsidiary of the Malaysia Aviation Group companies, launched its halal logistics service. With this service the company offers hygenic and secure movement, storage and handling of both food and non-food material.

The launch was held at the Malaysia Airlines Academy (MAB Academy) in Kelana Jaya and was attended by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, YB Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid bin Yusof, inform MAB Cargo.

To commemorate the launch, MAB Kargo also signed an agreement with their first customers, Sejung Group of Korea, Nippon Express (Malaysia), Labuan Halal Hub and Serunai Commerce to acquire their services.

Speaking at the event, MAB Kargo’s Chief Executive Officer Ibrahim Mohamed Salleh said, “After more than two years working towards acquiring the halal certification, we finally received the MS2400-Certification from JAKIM for halal logistics service under warehousing activities. The MABkargo halal logistics is tailored to the needs of the halal industry for reliable, safe and secure air cargo handling.”

With this newly launched service, MAB Kargo offers hygenic and secure movement, storage and handling of both food and non-food material. The MS2400-Certification from JAKIM is applicable for MAB Kargo’s warehousing and related activities at its designated area. Apart from meeting the strict requirements, MAB Kargo also initiated additional facilities to cater to the need of maintaining segregation and separation between halal and non-halal shipments.

MAB Kargo is also now listed on Verify Halal app developed by Serunai Commerce. Verify Halal is a mobile application launched to empower consumers and suppliers alike to instantly verify the Halal status of a product or premises certified by JAKIM or by a JAKIM-recognised foreign halal certification body.
