The Maldives has started a Halal Travel platform for Muslim tourists. The aim is to compete with countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia.
The Maldives Halal Travel platform will be entirely in Arabic and will be heavily promoted in the GCC region, informs Maldives Tourism Authority. The aim of Maldives Halal Travel is to compete with countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia, which dominated the outbound market for travelers from the Middle East, it added.
Maldives Halal Travel’s product portfolio includes halal news, offers, the Maldives Halal Travel Magazine (print & digital), the Muslim Friendly Travel Rating (MFTR), consultancy, PR & marketing, training, conferences, special content creation, attending designated halal travel fairs and exhibitions, and hosting halal travel awards, it adds.
